Wauwi Gallery
Wauwi (Light Square) Gallery - a gallery, retail store, and studio space on the bustling north-west city corner of Light Square in Adelaide.
The Wauwi Gallery - a refurbishment of street-level floor in an historic building owned by the University of South Australia.
The gallery was set up to exhibit diverse works of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art in rolling exhibitions while the studio rooms in a connecting area support local and visiting artists in producing works.
Large moveable display walls were designed in to the exhibition system and allowed for hanging of work, showing of retail items, and storage of works of art in a hidden internal compartment. An exhibition-quality lighting system as well as a suite of consistent plinths completed the gallery.
