The cubes were installed for the duration of the conference over three days and served as a backdrop to display the work of six local Australian film makers and creative agencies.
Skein developed the design based on an exposed framing technique taking cues from Japanese axial framing construction. The exposed framing drew the visitors interest and allowed for a decorative self-bracing structure externally with flat projection surfaces internally. The cubes became the most visited exhibit in the 2016 Semi Permanent festival.
Skein provided design expertise to the Sydney-based fabricator ensuring a high level of finish and detail was carried through in the production of the cubes.
