Valley of Yore
Valley of Yore, an evolving and unique concept store conceived by Myponga locals, for Myponga locals and visitors alike. The cosy and welcoming space is situated in the corner of the historic Myponga Market Hall.
Skein were engaged to deliver a fit-out that incorporated a considered working area and detailing that complimented the existing industrial aesthetic of the room. Taking cues from skeletal construction elements such as the exposed roof trusses, we developed an inside-out framing system for the fixed joinery elements and feature screens. Warm colour tones with timber highlights ground the new elements against the thoughtfully restored and sealed paint-laden walls of the former cheese factory utility space.
The client’s attention to detail, from pastry selections to cutlery, and their romantic vision for the store brings the space to life and re-ignite the visitors interest in an historic building, town, and the town’s folklore.
